There was no intention of taking political revenge through the arrest of former President’s son Yoshitha Rajapaksa, Minister of Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure Harin Fernando says.
Fernando made the observation at a press conference held in Colombo today (02).
“Yoshitha Rajapaksa will be freed if he is not guilty. There is no point of warring about his arrest if he hasn’t done anything wrong,” he added.
“First, they accused the Government of not taking action against the offenders. As we act, they call it a political revenge,” said Fernando.
He also went on to say that the police would not put Minister Arjuna Ranatunga’s brother Nishantha Ranatunga behind bars if this was motivated by political revenge
